Fresh and Easy Strawberry Salsa Recipe

A fresh no-cook salsa made with juicy strawberries, red onion, jalapeño, cilantro, lime juice, and kosher salt. It makes about 2 cups and is ready in approximately 15 minutes.
Prep Time 15 minutes
Total Time 15 minutes
Servings: 4 servings

Ingredients

Main Ingredients
  • 1 pound Fresh strawberries, hulled and finely diced
  • 1/4 cup Red onion, finely diced
  • 1 small Small jalapeño, seeded and finely minced
  • 1/4 cup Fresh cilantro, chopped
  • 1 tablespoon Fresh lime juice, approximately the juice of 1/2 lime
  • 1/4 teaspoon Kosher salt, or to taste

Method

Step-by-Step
  1. Rinse the strawberries thoroughly and dry them completely. Hull the berries, then finely dice them into small, even pieces.
  2. Finely dice the red onion and mince the jalapeño. Remove the jalapeño seeds and membranes for a milder salsa.
  3. Add the diced strawberries, red onion, jalapeño, and chopped cilantro to a medium bowl.
  4. Pour in the fresh lime juice and sprinkle the kosher salt over the mixture.
  5. Gently fold everything together until combined, taking care not to mash the strawberries.
  6. Taste and adjust the lime juice, salt, or jalapeño as needed. Serve immediately, or refrigerate for 10–15 minutes so the flavors can blend.

Notes

For the best texture, prepare the salsa shortly before serving. If making it ahead, refrigerate it and add or adjust the lime juice just before serving because the strawberries release liquid as they stand.
