Ingredients

Main Ingredients
  • 1 12-count package Hawaiian sweet rolls or soft dinner rolls
  • 1 cup Pizza sauce
  • 24 slices Pepperoni
  • 6-8 ounces Sliced or shredded mozzarella cheese
Topping
  • 4 tablespoons Unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • 1/2 teaspoon Garlic powder
  • 2 tablespoons Grated Parmesan cheese
Optional Garnishes
  • As desired Chopped parsley, red pepper flakes, or additional mozzarella

Method

Step-by-Step
  1. Heat the oven to 350°F and lightly grease a 9-by-13-inch baking dish. Without separating the rolls, slice the entire package horizontally and place the bottom half in the dish.
  2. Spread 1 cup of pizza sauce evenly over the bottom rolls. Layer on the mozzarella and pepperoni, then place the top half of the rolls over the filling.
  3. Stir together the melted butter, Italian seasoning, garlic powder, and Parmesan cheese. Brush or spoon the mixture over the tops of the rolls.
  4. Cover the dish loosely with foil and bake for 12–15 minutes, until the cheese is melted and the sliders are hot. Remove the foil and bake for another 3–5 minutes, until the tops are lightly browned.
  5. Let the sliders rest for a few minutes, then separate them and serve warm with extra pizza sauce if desired.

Notes

Keep the rolls connected during assembly and baking for faster preparation and evenly filled sliders. Cover the dish for most of the bake so the cheese melts without over-browning the tops, then uncover at the end for a crisp finish.
