Step-by-Step
- Pat the shrimp dry with paper towels. Season with the salt, pepper, and Italian seasoning.
- Heat the olive oil and 1 tablespoon of the butter in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add the asparagus and sauté for about 4–5 minutes, stirring occasionally, until bright green and just tender; transfer it to a plate.
- Add the remaining butter to the skillet. Add the garlic and cook for about 30 seconds, just until fragrant, without letting it brown.
- Add the seasoned shrimp in a single layer. Cook for about 1–2 minutes per side, or until pink, opaque, and just cooked through.
- Pour in the broth and lemon juice. Stir and simmer for 1–2 minutes, scraping up any browned bits from the pan.
- Return the asparagus to the skillet and toss everything together. Taste and adjust the seasoning, then garnish with parsley and serve with lemon wedges.
Notes
Pat the shrimp very dry so they brown instead of steam. Shrimp cook quickly and become rubbery when overcooked; remove them from the heat as soon as they turn opaque and form a loose C shape. Serve immediately for the best texture.
