- Peel the carrots and cut them into evenly sized coins or sticks.
- Place the carrots in a saucepan or steamer with 1–2 tablespoons of water if needed. Cover and cook over medium heat for 8–12 minutes, until crisp-tender.
- Drain the carrots thoroughly, then return them to the hot pan.
- Add the butter, chopped fresh dill, salt, and black pepper. Toss until the butter melts and coats the carrots.
- Taste, adjust the seasoning if needed, and serve immediately.
Notes
For dried dill, substitute 1 teaspoon dried dill weed for 1 tablespoon fresh dill and add it with the butter so it can rehydrate. A small squeeze of lemon juice is an optional variation.
