Ingredients
Method
Hot Latte
- Warm the apple cider in a small saucepan over medium-low heat until steaming, but do not boil. Stir in the caramel sauce, cinnamon, and optional nutmeg until the caramel is well blended.
- Steam or heat the milk separately until hot and lightly foamy. Pour the espresso into a mug, add the warm caramel-cider mixture, and then pour in the milk.
- Finish with whipped cream, a caramel drizzle, and a small pinch of cinnamon if desired.
Iced Latte
- Stir the caramel sauce and cinnamon into the apple cider. If the caramel does not dissolve easily, warm the cider briefly first, then cool it before assembling the drink.
- Fill a tall glass with ice, add the caramel-cider mixture and cold milk, then pour the espresso over the top. Stir well and finish with whipped cream and caramel drizzle if desired.
Notes
Apple cider gives the drink a fuller spiced-apple flavor than plain apple juice. For a sweeter latte, use 2 tablespoons caramel sauce; for a stronger coffee flavor, use 3 espresso shots or 3/4 cup strong coffee. For a cider-forward drink, use 3/4 cup cider and 1/4 cup milk.
