Total Time 10 minutes
Servings: 4 servings

Ingredients

Main Ingredients
  • 3 large Large ripe Hass avocados
  • 1/4 cup Finely diced red or white onion
  • 1 medium Roma tomato, seeded and finely diced
  • 1 small Jalapeno, minced
  • 1/4 cup Fresh cilantro, chopped
  • 1-2 tablespoons Fresh lime juice
  • 1/2 teaspoon, plus more to taste Kosher salt
Optional Ingredient
  • 1 small Small garlic clove, finely minced or pressed

Method

Step-by-Step
  1. Halve the avocados lengthwise, remove the pits, and scoop the flesh into a medium bowl.
  2. Add 1 tablespoon of lime juice and the kosher salt. Mash with a fork until creamy but still slightly chunky, adding the remaining lime juice gradually as needed.
  3. Fold in the diced onion, seeded tomato, minced jalapeno, chopped cilantro, and optional garlic.
  4. Taste the guacamole and adjust with more salt, lime juice, or jalapeno according to your preference.
  5. Serve immediately with tortilla chips, tacos, burritos, or grilled foods.

Notes

Choose avocados that yield slightly when gently pressed. Mash by hand for the best chunky texture. To slow browning, press plastic wrap directly onto the surface and refrigerate; the avocado pit alone does not reliably prevent browning.
