Step-by-Step
- Heat the oven to 250°F. Line a large baking sheet with parchment paper or a silicone baking mat.
- Arrange 48 square pretzel snaps in a single layer on the lined baking sheet. Leave them flat and stable so each candy will sit securely in the center.
- Unwrap 48 chocolate-covered caramel candies and place one on top of each pretzel. Keep the candies centered so the softened chocolate can bond with the pretzel underneath.
- Bake for 3–4 minutes, just until the chocolate is softened. The candies should retain their shape and should not be fully melted.
- Immediately press one piece of candy corn into the center of each softened candy. Add a candy eye or a pinch of Halloween sprinkles while the chocolate is still soft, if desired.
- Refrigerate the baking sheet for 15–20 minutes, or until the chocolate has firmed. Serve chilled or allow the bites to sit briefly at room temperature before serving.
Notes
Use parchment paper or a silicone baking mat because melted chocolate can stick to an unlined metal pan. Watch the candies closely during baking; overbaking can make the chocolate too runny and cause the caramel centers to spread. Work quickly after removing the pan because the candy hardens rapidly.
