Step-by-Step
- Lightly grease a 5- to 6-quart slow cooker. Spread both cans of blueberry pie filling evenly across the bottom.
- Sprinkle the dry yellow cake mix evenly over the blueberry filling. Do not stir the layers together.
- Drizzle the melted butter over as much of the cake mix as possible. Sprinkle the chopped walnuts or pecans over the top if using.
- Cover and cook on LOW for 2 to 3 hours, or on HIGH for about 1 1/2 to 2 hours, until the filling is bubbling and the topping is set and lightly browned around the edges.
- Turn off the slow cooker and let the cobbler stand for 10 to 15 minutes before serving. Spoon it into bowls and serve warm with vanilla ice cream or whipped cream.
Notes
For a more even topping, distribute the melted butter carefully so fewer dry patches of cake mix remain. A clean kitchen towel placed under the lid can catch condensation and help prevent a soggy topping; keep the towel away from the heating element and remove it before serving.
