Total Time 40 minutes

Ingredients

Main Ingredients
  • 1 cup Mayonnaise
  • 1/2 cup Sour cream
  • 1/2 cup Buttermilk
Herbs and Seasonings
  • 1 teaspoon Dried parsley
  • 1 teaspoon Dried dill weed
  • 1 teaspoon Dried chives
  • 1/2 teaspoon Garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon Onion powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon Fine salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon Black pepper
Optional Tang
  • 1 teaspoon Fresh lemon juice or white vinegar

Method

Step-by-Step
  1. Whisk the mayonnaise, sour cream, and buttermilk together in a bowl until smooth and creamy.
  2. Add the parsley, dill, chives, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, pepper, and optional lemon juice or white vinegar.
  3. Whisk thoroughly, scraping the sides and bottom of the bowl so the dried herbs and seasonings are evenly distributed.
  4. Cover and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes. For better flavor, chill for 1 to 2 hours so the herbs hydrate and the seasonings mellow.
  5. Stir before serving. If the dressing becomes too thick, whisk in 1 to 2 teaspoons of buttermilk.

Notes

For a thicker dip, reduce the buttermilk to 1/4 cup. Refrigerate in an airtight container and use within approximately 5 to 7 days, especially if fresh herbs are used.
