- Brown the ground beef and diced onion in a skillet over medium-high heat for 6 to 8 minutes, breaking the meat into small pieces. Add the garlic during the final 30 seconds, then drain excess fat.
- Transfer the beef mixture to a 5- to 6-quart slow cooker. Add the beans, diced tomatoes, tomato sauce, beef broth, chili powder, cumin, paprika, salt, and pepper, then stir well.
- Cover and cook on LOW for 6 to 8 hours or HIGH for 3 to 4 hours. Taste before serving and adjust the seasoning as needed.
