Servings: 1 servings

Ingredients

Float
  • 2 generous scoops, about 1 cup (140–160 g) Lime sherbet
  • 8 fluid ounces (240 ml) Chilled lemon-lime soda, such as 7UP or Sprite
Flavor and Garnish
  • 1 tablespoon (15 ml) Fresh lime juice, optional
  • 2 tablespoons Whipped cream, optional
  • 1 for garnish Lime wedge or thin lime slice

Method

Step-by-Step
  1. Chill a tall glass for several minutes if desired. Add the two generous scoops of lime sherbet, then slowly pour in the cold lemon-lime soda down the side of the glass in stages to control the foam.
  2. Add the fresh lime juice if using and gently stir once or twice. Top with whipped cream, garnish with a lime wedge or thin lime slice, and serve immediately with a straw and spoon.

Notes

Use very cold sherbet and soda for better foam and a longer-lasting scoop. Add the sherbet just before serving because it melts quickly. For a party punch, use 1 quart lime sherbet and one 2-liter bottle of lemon-lime soda.
