Step-by-Step
- Rinse the fresh berries and mint under cool water. Remove the strawberry stems if strawberries are included.
- Pour the milk into a blender first, then add the yogurt, berries, mint, honey or maple syrup, and optional lemon juice.
- Blend on high for 30–60 seconds, or until the mixture looks smooth and creamy.
- Add ice if using fresh berries or if a colder, thicker smoothie is desired. Blend again briefly until the ice is incorporated.
- Taste the smoothie and adjust the sweetness, mint, or milk as needed. Pour into two glasses and serve immediately.
Notes
Frozen berries usually eliminate the need for much ice and help create a thick texture. Greek yogurt makes a thicker, higher-protein smoothie, while regular plain yogurt produces a lighter, more pourable drink. Add liquid before the yogurt and fruit so the blender starts smoothly, and avoid over-processing to preserve the fresh mint flavor.
