Total Time 30 minutes

Ingredients

Cookies and Coating
  • 12 cookies Oreo sandwich cookies
  • 12 ounces White or vanilla candy-melting wafers
Decorations
  • 12 mini cups, optional Mini peanut-butter cups, unwrapped
  • 24 candies, optional Mini M&M candies
  • 2–3 tablespoons Christmas sprinkles
  • 12 small pieces, optional Thin licorice, candy-coated chocolate, or piped melted chocolate

Method

Step-by-Step
  1. Line a baking sheet with parchment or wax paper. Melt the candy wafers in a microwave-safe bowl in 20–30-second intervals, stirring thoroughly after every interval until smooth.
  2. Dip each whole Oreo into the melted coating, turning it gently with a fork until fully covered. Lift the cookie out and tap the fork lightly against the bowl to let excess coating drip away.
  3. Place the coated cookie on the lined baking sheet. Immediately add Christmas sprinkles and mini M&Ms, then press a mini peanut-butter cup onto the top edge if using it as an ornament cap.
  4. Add a small licorice piece, candy-coated chocolate, or piped melted chocolate loop at the top of each cookie for an optional hanger. Refrigerate for 10–15 minutes, or until the coating is firm.

Notes

Candy melts or almond bark are preferred over ordinary white chocolate because they set firmly and are easy to dip. If the coating becomes too thick, stir in about 1 teaspoon of shortening or coconut oil. Store finished cookies in an airtight container.
