Step-by-Step
- Heat the oven to 400°F and lightly grease a shallow baking dish.
- Pat the shrimp very dry, then arrange them in a single layer in the prepared baking dish.
- Stir together the melted butter, minced garlic, lemon juice, Italian seasoning, salt, and black pepper. Pour the mixture over the shrimp and turn them gently to coat.
- Combine the breadcrumbs with 1/4 cup of the Parmesan. Sprinkle this mixture over the shrimp, then scatter the remaining Parmesan over the top.
- Bake for 10 to 12 minutes for large shrimp, or 13 to 15 minutes if the shrimp are very large, until opaque, pink, and just cooked through.
- Broil for 1 to 2 minutes if you want a more deeply browned topping, watching closely. Garnish with parsley and serve immediately with lemon wedges.
Notes
Patting the shrimp dry helps the topping brown instead of becoming watery. Do not overbake; shrimp should form a loose C shape rather than a tight curl. Store leftovers refrigerated and reheat gently to avoid tough shrimp.
