Ingredients

Yellow Layer
  • 1 3 oz box Lemon gelatin
  • 1 cup Boiling water
  • 1 cup Cold water
Orange Layer
  • 1 3 oz box Orange gelatin
  • 1 cup Boiling water
  • 1 cup Cold water
White Layer
  • 1 envelope (1/4 oz) Unflavored gelatin
  • 1 cup Boiling water
  • 1 14 oz can Sweetened condensed milk
Garnish
  • As needed Whipped cream
  • 1-2 pieces per cup Candy corn
Equipment
  • 10-12 approximately 4 oz each Small clear plastic cups

Method

Step-by-Step
  1. Dissolve the lemon gelatin in 1 cup boiling water. Stir in 1 cup cold water, then pour about 1/4 to 1/3 cup into each clear cup. Chill for 20 to 30 minutes, or until firm enough to support the next layer.
  2. Dissolve the orange gelatin in 1 cup boiling water, then stir in 1 cup cold water. Cool briefly until it is no longer hot, and gently pour it over the set yellow layer. Chill for another 20 to 30 minutes.
  3. Sprinkle the unflavored gelatin over 1 cup boiling water and stir until completely dissolved. Stir in the sweetened condensed milk, then let the white mixture cool to room temperature.
  4. Carefully spoon or pour the cooled white mixture over the orange layer. Refrigerate for at least 1 hour, or until all layers are fully set.
  5. Just before serving, add a small swirl of whipped cream and one or two pieces of candy corn to each cup. Serve chilled.

Notes

Keep the cups level in a tray while chilling. Cool every gelatin mixture before adding the next layer so the stripes stay distinct. Store covered and refrigerated, and add whipped cream and candy corn shortly before serving.
