Method
Step-by-Step
- Juice the 2 oranges and 1/2 lemon, straining out any seeds while keeping the flavorful pulp if desired.
- For a warm drink, stir the honey into the 1/2 cup warm water until dissolved. For a cold drink, dissolve the honey in 1 to 2 tablespoons of warm water first, then combine it with cold water.
- Pour the citrus juice and honey water into a glass or small pitcher. Stir thoroughly, then add the optional grated ginger.
- Serve the drink warm immediately, or pour it over ice for a chilled version. Enjoy soon after mixing for the freshest flavor.
Notes
Use freshly squeezed citrus for the brightest taste. Do not boil the juice or honey, since excessive heat can reduce some vitamin C and dull the fresh flavor. If making the drink ahead, refrigerate it and use the fresh orange juice within 24 hours.
