Ingredients

Main Ingredients
  • 1 cup (240 ml) Cold heavy whipping cream
  • 2 tablespoons Confectioners’ sugar
  • 1 teaspoon Pure vanilla extract

Method

Step-by-Step
  1. If time allows, chill a large mixing bowl and the beaters or whisk for 10–15 minutes. Pour the cold heavy whipping cream into the chilled bowl.
  2. Beat the cream with an electric mixer on medium speed until it begins to thicken. Add the confectioners’ sugar and pure vanilla extract.
  3. Continue beating until soft peaks form for spoonable cream or medium-firm peaks form for piping and decorating. Stop as soon as the desired texture is reached.
  4. Serve immediately, or cover and refrigerate the whipped cream for several hours before serving.

Notes

Use very cold cream and a chilled bowl for the best volume. Do not overbeat; cream can become grainy and eventually turn into butter once it passes firm peaks.
