- Drain the tuna thoroughly. For a less watery salad, press the tuna gently in a fine-mesh strainer or squeeze out excess liquid.
- Add the drained tuna to a medium bowl and flake it with a fork, leaving some small pieces intact for a pleasant texture.
- Stir in the Greek yogurt, mayonnaise, lemon juice, Dijon mustard, celery, red onion, chopped pickles, and fresh parsley or dill.
- Season with kosher salt and freshly ground black pepper. Mix just until combined rather than mashing the tuna.
- Serve immediately, or refrigerate for 20–30 minutes so the celery, onion, pickle, mustard, and herb flavors can blend.
Notes
Drain the tuna very well to prevent a loose or bland salad. For a mayonnaise-free version, replace the mayonnaise with additional Greek yogurt. Store leftovers covered in the refrigerator and serve chilled.
