Ingredients

Tuna Salad
  • 2 5-ounce cans Solid-light tuna packed in water, well drained
  • 1/3 cup Plain Greek yogurt
  • 2 tablespoons Mayonnaise
  • 1 tablespoon Fresh lemon juice
  • 1 teaspoon Dijon mustard
  • 1/4 cup Finely diced celery
  • 2 tablespoons Finely diced red onion
  • 2 tablespoons Chopped dill pickles or dill relish
  • 1 tablespoon Chopped fresh parsley or dill
  • 1/4 teaspoon Kosher salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon Freshly ground black pepper

Method

Step-by-Step
  1. Drain the tuna thoroughly. For a less watery salad, press the tuna gently in a fine-mesh strainer or squeeze out excess liquid.
  2. Add the drained tuna to a medium bowl and flake it with a fork, leaving some small pieces intact for a pleasant texture.
  3. Stir in the Greek yogurt, mayonnaise, lemon juice, Dijon mustard, celery, red onion, chopped pickles, and fresh parsley or dill.
  4. Season with kosher salt and freshly ground black pepper. Mix just until combined rather than mashing the tuna.
  5. Serve immediately, or refrigerate for 20–30 minutes so the celery, onion, pickle, mustard, and herb flavors can blend.

Notes

Drain the tuna very well to prevent a loose or bland salad. For a mayonnaise-free version, replace the mayonnaise with additional Greek yogurt. Store leftovers covered in the refrigerator and serve chilled.
