Halloween Dirt Shake Recipe for a Spooky Treat

Halloween Dirt Shake

A thick, creamy chocolate cookie milkshake topped with whipped cream, cookie “dirt,” and gummy worms for a playful Halloween dessert. This no-cook recipe makes 2 spooky shakes in about 10 minutes.
Prep Time 10 minutes
Total Time 10 minutes
Servings: 2 servings

Ingredients

Shake
  • 10 cookies Chocolate sandwich cookies, such as Oreo cookies, divided
  • 2 cups Chocolate or vanilla ice cream
  • 3/4 cup Cold milk
  • 2 tablespoons Chocolate syrup, plus extra for glasses
  • 1/2 teaspoon Vanilla extract, optional
Toppings
  • As needed Whipped cream
  • 2-4 worms Gummy worms
Optional Toppings
  • As desired Chocolate cookie crumbs, candy pumpkins, or Halloween sprinkles

Method

Step-by-Step
  1. Crush 6 chocolate sandwich cookies into coarse crumbs for the shake and reserve the remaining 4 cookies for garnish or for a separate dirt-like topping.
  2. Drizzle chocolate syrup inside two chilled glasses. If desired, dip the rims in syrup and then in cookie crumbs for a decorated edge.
  3. Add the ice cream, cold milk, 2 tablespoons chocolate syrup, optional vanilla extract, and the 6 crushed cookies to a blender.
  4. Blend just until smooth and thick, about 15–30 seconds. Avoid over-blending because the shake can become thin.
  5. Pour the shake into the prepared glasses. Add whipped cream, cookie dirt, gummy worms, and any additional Halloween candy, then serve immediately.

Notes

For a thicker shake, use chilled glasses and add milk only a tablespoon at a time if the mixture is too thick. For a stronger chocolate flavor, use chocolate ice cream or replace 1 tablespoon of chocolate syrup with unsweetened cocoa powder. Adding cookie crumbs after blending keeps their texture crisp.
