- Drain the tuna thoroughly, pressing out excess liquid, then flake it with a fork.
- Beat the softened cream cheese in a mixing bowl until smooth.
- Mix in the mayonnaise, lemon juice, Worcestershire sauce, garlic powder, salt, and black pepper.
- Fold in the drained tuna and minced onion. Stir in the parsley if using.
- Cover and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes. Chill closer to one hour for a firmer dip.
- Stir before serving with potato chips, crackers, celery, or other raw vegetables.
Notes
Drain the tuna very well so the dip stays thick and flavorful. Allow the cream cheese to soften at room temperature before mixing to prevent lumps. Tuna packed in oil creates a richer dip, while tuna packed in water gives a lighter result.
