Ingredients

Cheeseball Mixture
  • 2 8-ounce packages Cream cheese, softened
  • 1 cup Sharp cheddar cheese, finely shredded
  • 1/2 cup Sour cream
  • 1/4 cup Green onion or chives, finely chopped
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1/2 teaspoon Garlic powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon Ground black pepper
Coating and Serving
  • 1 cup Finely chopped pecans
  • As needed Assorted crackers and fresh vegetables
Snowman Decorations
  • 1 Small carrot, cut into a carrot-shaped nose
  • 2 Black olives, sliced or halved for eyes and buttons
  • 1 Small red bell pepper, cut into a narrow strip
  • 1-2 Pretzel sticks

Method

Step-by-Step
  1. Beat the softened cream cheese and sour cream until smooth. Mix in the cheddar, green onion, Worcestershire sauce, garlic powder, and black pepper until evenly combined.
  2. Cover the bowl and refrigerate the mixture for at least 1 hour, or until firm enough to shape. Let it stand at room temperature for about 10–15 minutes before shaping if it feels very hard.
  3. Divide the mixture into three portions and form one large ball, one medium ball, and one small ball. Roll each ball in the finely chopped pecans, pressing gently so the coating sticks.
  4. Stack the balls from largest to smallest on a serving platter and press gently where they meet. Add the carrot nose, olive eyes and buttons, red bell pepper scarf, and pretzel-stick arms.
  5. Refrigerate the assembled snowman until serving. Offer it with crackers, celery, carrots, bell-pepper strips, and other sturdy vegetables.

Notes

For a whiter, more snow-like finish, substitute finely shredded white cheddar or finely shredded mozzarella for the chopped pecans. Assemble the carrot nose and pretzel arms shortly before serving because they can soften or shift during extended refrigeration.
