Servings: 1 servings

Ingredients

Main Ingredients
  • 2 fl oz (60 ml) Vodka
  • 1 fl oz (30 ml) Cranberry juice or cranberry juice cocktail
  • 1/2 fl oz (15 ml) Freshly squeezed lime juice
  • 4 fl oz (120 ml) Chilled ginger beer
  • As needed Ice, preferably crushed or cubed
Garnish
  • As needed Fresh cranberries
  • 1 Lime wedge
Optional Garnish
  • 1 Small rosemary sprig

Method

Step-by-Step
  1. Fill a copper mule mug or rocks glass with ice. Add the vodka, cranberry juice, and freshly squeezed lime juice.
  2. Stir briefly to combine the vodka, cranberry juice, lime juice, and ice.
  3. Top with the chilled ginger beer, then stir gently once more to preserve as much carbonation as possible.
  4. Garnish with fresh cranberries, a lime wedge, and an optional small rosemary sprig. Serve immediately while the drink is cold and bubbly.

Notes

Use ginger beer rather than ginger ale for a spicier, more characteristic mule. Fresh lime juice tastes brighter than bottled lime juice. If using unsweetened cranberry juice, add about 1/4 to 1/2 fl oz simple syrup if you prefer a less tart drink.
