- Heat the oven to 400°F. Line a baking sheet or shallow baking dish with foil or parchment, then pat the salmon fillets dry and arrange them skin-side down.
- Stir together the olive oil, lemon juice, minced garlic, dill, salt, and black pepper. Brush or spoon the mixture evenly over the tops of the salmon.
- Bake for 12 to 15 minutes, checking the thickest fillet early. The salmon is ready when it flakes easily and reaches 145°F in the thickest part.
- Remove the salmon from the oven and serve immediately with lemon wedges. Spoon any flavorful pan juices over the fillets before eating.
Notes
Pat the salmon dry so the seasoning adheres well. Thin portions may finish in about 10 to 12 minutes, while a particularly thick fillet may need a few extra minutes. Salmon continues cooking briefly after removal, so begin checking early to help prevent dryness.
