Ingredients

Chicken Slider Filling
  • 3 cups Cooked, shredded chicken, preferably rotisserie chicken
  • 8 ounces Cream cheese, softened
  • 1 packet, about 1 ounce Ranch dressing seasoning mix
  • 1 cup Sharp cheddar cheese, shredded, divided
  • 6 slices Bacon, cooked and crumbled
  • 1/4 teaspoon Black pepper
Rolls and Topping
  • 1 package, 12 rolls Hawaiian-style sweet rolls
  • 3 tablespoons Unsalted butter, melted
  • 1/2 teaspoon Garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon Dried parsley or Italian seasoning, optional

Method

Step-by-Step
  1. Heat the oven to 350°F and lightly grease a 9-by-13-inch baking dish.
  2. In a bowl, combine the shredded chicken, softened cream cheese, ranch seasoning, 1/2 cup shredded cheddar, cooked crumbled bacon, and black pepper. Mix until the ingredients are evenly distributed.
  3. Without separating the Hawaiian rolls, slice the entire package horizontally to make one connected top half and one connected bottom half.
  4. Place the bottom half of the rolls in the greased baking dish. Spread the chicken mixture evenly over the rolls, then sprinkle the remaining 1/2 cup cheddar over the filling.
  5. Set the connected tops of the rolls over the chicken and cheese layer.
  6. Stir the melted butter with the garlic powder and optional dried parsley or Italian seasoning. Brush the seasoned butter generously over the tops of the rolls.
  7. Cover the dish loosely with foil and bake for 15 minutes. Remove the foil and continue baking for 5–10 minutes, until the cheese is melted and the roll tops are lightly browned.
  8. Let the sliders rest for 5 minutes before cutting between the rolls. Serve hot.

Notes

Soften the cream cheese fully before mixing for a smooth filling. Cover the sliders during the first part of baking so the center heats before the tops brown. For less salty sliders, use unsalted bacon or omit the black pepper because ranch seasoning, bacon, and cheddar already add salt.
