Ingredients

Smoothie Bowl
  • 1 cup Frozen mixed berries, such as strawberries, blueberries, raspberries, and blackberries
  • 1 medium Medium banana, sliced and frozen
  • 1/2 cup Plain or vanilla Greek yogurt
  • 1/4 cup Unsweetened almond milk, oat milk, or other milk
  • 1 tablespoon Honey or maple syrup, optional
  • 1/2 teaspoon Vanilla extract, optional
Toppings
  • 2 tablespoons Granola
  • 1/4 cup Fresh berries
  • 1 tablespoon Sliced almonds, chopped nuts, or seeds
  • 1 teaspoon Chia seeds, flaxseed, or shredded coconut
  • 1 tablespoon Nut butter, optional

Method

Step-by-Step
  1. Add the frozen mixed berries, frozen banana, Greek yogurt, 1/4 cup milk, and optional honey or maple syrup and vanilla to a high-powered blender.
  2. Blend on low to medium speed, stopping to scrape down the sides as needed. Use the blender tamper if your blender has one, and add more milk only a tablespoon at a time if the mixture cannot move.
  3. Continue blending until thick and creamy. The finished mixture should be thick enough to eat with a spoon rather than thin enough to drink through a straw.
  4. Spoon the smoothie into one large bowl or divide it between two small bowls. Add granola, fresh berries, sliced almonds or other nuts, chia seeds, flaxseed, coconut, and optional nut butter.
  5. Serve immediately, while the frozen fruit keeps the bowl cold and thick.

Notes

Freeze the banana in slices for easier blending. Add liquid gradually because too much milk produces a thin smoothie instead of a spoonable bowl. If the blender struggles, pause and scrape the sides before adding more liquid.
