Ingredients

Smoothie Bowl Base
  • cups Frozen strawberries
  • 1 banana Medium banana, sliced and frozen
  • ½ cup Plain Greek yogurt or nondairy yogurt
  • ¼ cup, plus more only if needed Unsweetened almond milk or other milk
  • 1 tablespoon, optional Honey or pure maple syrup
Toppings
  • ¼ cup Granola
  • ¼ cup Fresh strawberries, sliced
  • 1 teaspoon, optional Chia seeds or hemp seeds
  • 1 tablespoon, optional Shredded coconut

Method

Step-by-Step
  1. Freeze the banana in slices until solid. Add the frozen strawberries, frozen banana, yogurt, and milk to a high-powered blender or food processor.
  2. Blend on low to medium speed, pausing to scrape down the sides or use a blender tamper. Add milk 1 tablespoon at a time only if the blender needs help moving the fruit.
  3. When the mixture is thick and creamy, taste it and add honey or pure maple syrup if the fruit needs more sweetness. Spoon the smoothie mixture immediately into a bowl.
  4. Top with granola, sliced fresh strawberries, chia or hemp seeds, and shredded coconut. Serve right away for the thickest, coldest texture.

Notes

Use very cold, solidly frozen fruit and add liquid gradually. If the blender struggles, pause to scrape the sides or let the fruit soften for 2–3 minutes rather than adding much extra milk. For a colder bowl, freeze the prepared bowl for about 10 minutes before adding toppings, then serve immediately.
