Ingredients

Main Ingredients
  • 1 package, about 25 ounces Frozen cheese ravioli, used straight from frozen
  • 1 jar, 14–15 ounces Pizza sauce
  • 2 cups Shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1/2 cup Grated Parmesan cheese
  • 4 ounces, about 1 cup Sliced pepperoni
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
For the Dish
  • A little Nonstick cooking spray or olive oil

Method

Step-by-Step
  1. Heat the oven to 400°F and lightly grease a 9-by-13-inch baking dish with nonstick cooking spray or a little olive oil.
  2. Spread about half of the pizza sauce across the bottom of the prepared baking dish.
  3. Arrange the frozen ravioli in a mostly even layer over the sauce. Keep the ravioli frozen and do not boil them first.
  4. Spoon the remaining pizza sauce over the ravioli, covering as much of the pasta as possible.
  5. Sprinkle the mozzarella, Parmesan, Italian seasoning, and pepperoni evenly over the sauced ravioli.
  6. Cover the dish with foil and bake for about 20 minutes.
  7. Remove the foil and continue baking for another 10–15 minutes, until the ravioli are tender, the sauce is bubbling, and the cheese is melted and lightly browned.
  8. Let the casserole rest for 5 minutes before serving so the sauce settles slightly and the portions are easier to scoop.

Notes

Keep frozen ravioli frozen during assembly, since they cook in the sauce. Covering the dish during the first part of baking helps the ravioli cook through without drying out, while uncovering it at the end browns the cheese. Refrigerated ravioli may also be used, with the covered baking time reduced by roughly 5–10 minutes.
