Prep Time 10 minutes
Total Time 40 minutes
Servings: 8 servings

Ingredients

Main Ingredients
  • 8 ounces Cream cheese, softened
  • 1 cup Plain pumpkin purée, canned or homemade
  • 1/2 cup Packed light brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon Pure vanilla extract
  • 1 teaspoon Pumpkin pie spice
  • 1/2 cup Finely chopped pecans, divided
  • 1/4 teaspoon Salt, optional

Method

Step-by-Step
  1. Let the cream cheese soften at room temperature. Beat it with the packed light brown sugar using an electric mixer until creamy and lump-free.
  2. Add the plain pumpkin purée, vanilla extract, pumpkin pie spice, and optional salt. Beat until the mixture is evenly combined and silky.
  3. Fold about 1/4 cup of the finely chopped pecans into the dip. Transfer the mixture to a serving bowl and sprinkle the remaining pecans over the top.
  4. Refrigerate the dip for at least 30 minutes, or up to 1 hour before serving. If it becomes too firm, let it stand at room temperature for about 10 minutes before scooping.

Notes

Use plain pumpkin purée, not pumpkin pie filling. For extra pecan flavor, toast the pecans in a dry skillet over medium-low heat for 3–5 minutes, stirring frequently, then cool them before chopping. Store leftovers in a covered container in the refrigerator and use within about 3–4 days.
