Ingredients

Sangria
  • 1 750 ml bottle Chilled dry white wine, such as Pinot Grigio, Sauvignon Blanc, or Riesling
  • 1/2 cup Peach schnapps
  • 1 cup Peach nectar or white-peach juice
Fruit
  • 2 peaches Ripe peaches, thinly sliced
  • 1 orange Orange, thinly sliced or cut into wedges
  • 1 lemon Lemon, thinly sliced
  • 1/2 cup Fresh raspberries or strawberries, optional
To Serve
  • 1 cup Chilled club soda, lemon-lime soda, or sparkling water
  • As needed Ice
Optional Sweetener
  • 1 to 2 tablespoons Granulated sugar or simple syrup

Method

Step-by-Step
  1. Add the sliced peaches, orange, lemon, and optional berries to a large pitcher.
  2. Pour in the chilled white wine, peach schnapps, and peach nectar. Stir gently to combine without bruising the fruit.
  3. Taste the mixture and add 1 to 2 tablespoons of sugar or simple syrup only if the fruit or wine needs more sweetness.
  4. Cover and refrigerate for at least 1 hour. Chilling for 2 to 4 hours allows the peach and citrus flavors to infuse more deeply.
  5. Just before serving, stir in the chilled club soda, lemon-lime soda, or sparkling water. Pour over ice and spoon fruit into each glass.

Notes

Use ripe but firm peaches so they hold their shape. Chill the pitcher before adding ice to prevent dilution, and add the sparkling mixer immediately before serving so the sangria stays fizzy.
