Step-by-Step
- Heat the oven to 350°F and lightly grease a 9-by-13-inch baking dish.
- Keep each package of rolls connected and slice horizontally through the entire package to create one top section and one bottom section.
- Place the bottom halves in the prepared baking dish. Layer the ham evenly over the rolls, then arrange the Swiss cheese on top.
- Set the tops of the rolls over the ham and cheese. Whisk together the melted butter, Dijon mustard, Worcestershire sauce, poppy seeds, dried minced onion, garlic powder, and salt.
- Pour or brush the butter mixture evenly over the roll tops. Let the assembled sliders stand for about 5 minutes so some of the sauce can soak into the bread.
- Cover the baking dish with foil and bake for 12–15 minutes, until the cheese melts and the sandwiches are hot.
- Remove the foil and bake for another 3–5 minutes, until the tops are lightly browned. Separate the sliders with a knife and serve warm.
Notes
Keep the rolls connected during slicing and baking for faster assembly and moister sandwiches. For stronger flavor, assemble the sliders several hours ahead, cover, refrigerate, and add roughly 5 minutes to the covered baking time. Use turkey, roast beef, or other cheese varieties for a variation.
