Step-by-Step
- Slice 2 bananas into even rounds approximately 1/4 inch thick. Keep the slices as uniform as possible so they cook at the same rate.
- Melt 1/4 cup butter in a skillet over medium heat. Once melted, stir in 1/2 cup packed brown sugar and 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon.
- Cook the butter, brown sugar, and cinnamon mixture for 2–3 minutes, stirring until the sugar dissolves and a glossy sauce forms. Keep the heat at medium so the sugar does not scorch.
- Add the banana slices to the skillet in a single layer. Cook for about 2 minutes on the first side.
- Turn each banana slice carefully and cook for about 2 minutes on the second side. Handle the slices gently because softened bananas can break apart.
- Serve the bananas immediately, spooning the warm cinnamon-butter sauce over the top. Enjoy them on their own or with your favorite breakfast or dessert pairing.
Notes
Choose bananas that are ripe but still firm. Avoid overcooking, since very soft bananas may fall apart and the brown sugar sauce can scorch quickly. Serve immediately for the best texture.
