Ingredients

Fajita Seasoning Mix
  • 1 tablespoon Cornstarch
  • 2 teaspoons Chili powder
  • 1 teaspoon Fine salt
  • 1 teaspoon Paprika
  • 1 teaspoon Granulated sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon Onion powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon Garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon Ground cumin
  • 1/2 teaspoon Ground black pepper
  • 1/4 teaspoon Cayenne pepper

Method

Step-by-Step
  1. Measure all ingredients into a small bowl or airtight jar. Stir with a spoon or seal the jar and shake thoroughly until the cornstarch and spices are evenly distributed.
  2. Use about 2 tablespoons of the seasoning blend per pound of sliced meat or vegetables. Toss with 2–3 tablespoons of water, lime juice, or oil to help the spices coat evenly.
  3. Cook the seasoned ingredients in a skillet until the protein is fully done and the vegetables are tender-crisp, generally 10–15 minutes depending on what you are cooking.

Notes

Store the seasoning in a tightly sealed jar in a cool, dark cupboard. It keeps best for about 6 months, although the spices may remain usable longer with gradually reduced flavor. Cornstarch may be omitted for a simpler dry spice blend.
