Total Time 10 minutes
Servings: 6 servings

Ingredients

Main Ingredients
  • 1 cup (240 ml) Cold heavy whipping cream
  • 2 tablespoons (15–16 g) Powdered/confectioners’ sugar
  • 1–2 teaspoons Instant coffee or instant espresso powder
  • 1 teaspoon Pure vanilla extract
Optional Additions
  • 1 tablespoon Unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1 small pinch Salt

Method

Step-by-Step
  1. Chill the mixing bowl and beaters for 10–15 minutes if time allows. Add the cold heavy cream, powdered sugar, instant coffee or espresso powder, and vanilla to the chilled bowl.
  2. Beat on medium speed until the cream thickens and forms soft peaks. Add the cocoa powder and small pinch of salt at this stage if making mocha coffee whipped cream.
  3. Increase the mixer to medium-high speed and beat just until firm peaks form. Stop promptly so the cream stays smooth and does not become grainy or turn into butter.
  4. Taste the whipped cream and adjust with a little more sugar or coffee powder if needed. Serve immediately, or cover and refrigerate for up to about 24 hours.

Notes

Use instant espresso powder or instant coffee rather than ground coffee, which remains gritty. Brewed coffee adds excess liquid and may prevent proper whipping. If refrigerated and softened, re-whip briefly before serving.
