Easy Grinch Skewers: A Fun and Festive Holiday Treat

Easy Grinch Skewers

These no-cook Grinch Skewers turn fresh fruit and mini marshmallows into adorable holiday hat-shaped treats. They make 12 festive skewers in about 15 minutes.
Prep Time 15 minutes
Total Time 15 minutes
Servings: 12 servings

Ingredients

Main Ingredients
  • 12 Green seedless grapes
  • 12 Strawberries, hulled
  • 1 Large banana, cut into 12 even slices
  • 12 Mini marshmallows
Equipment
  • 12 Small wooden skewers or sturdy toothpicks
Optional
  • 1 teaspoon Lemon juice, for brushing banana slices

Method

Step-by-Step
  1. Wash and dry the grapes and strawberries thoroughly. Hull the strawberries and set the prepared fruit on a clean towel or paper towel.
  2. Peel the banana and cut it into approximately 12 even slices. If desired, lightly brush the slices with 1 teaspoon lemon juice to slow browning.
  3. Thread each skewer in this order: one green grape, one banana slice, one strawberry with the pointed end facing outward, and one mini marshmallow.
  4. Arrange the completed skewers on a platter and serve immediately. You may also refrigerate them until serving, preferably for a short time.

Notes

Dry the fruit thoroughly so the skewers are easier to handle and the marshmallows do not become damp. Assemble close to serving time because bananas brown quickly and strawberries may release juice during extended refrigeration. For children, use short, blunt-ended cocktail picks or paper straws cut into short sections instead of sharp wooden picks.
