- Heat a gas or charcoal grill to medium-high, approximately 400–450°F.
- Stir the softened butter with the garlic powder, paprika, 1/4 teaspoon kosher salt, black pepper, and optional parsley. Set the seasoned butter aside.
- Lightly brush the husked corn with the oil and sprinkle it with the remaining 1/4 teaspoon kosher salt.
- Place the corn directly over the grill grates. Grill for 10–15 minutes, turning every 2–3 minutes, until the kernels are tender and lightly charred in spots.
- Remove the corn from the grill and immediately spread each ear with the seasoned butter. Serve hot.
Notes
Turn the corn often because its natural sugars can burn quickly over high heat. Soften the butter at room temperature rather than melting it so it clings better to the hot kernels. For extra smoky flavor, let the corn sit undisturbed for 1–2 minutes near the end of cooking to develop darker grill marks.
