Step-by-Step
- Arrange the 12 thawed dinner rolls in a lightly greased 9-by-13-inch baking dish, leaving space between them for expansion. Cover the dish loosely and let the rolls rise at room temperature until they look noticeably puffy.
- Heat the oven to 350°F (175°C). While the oven heats, melt the butter and stir in the minced garlic, Parmesan, parsley, Italian seasoning, and optional salt.
- Brush about half of the garlic-Parmesan butter over the risen rolls. Make sure the tops receive an even coating so the garlic and cheese flavor reaches every roll.
- Bake for 15–20 minutes, or until the rolls are puffed and golden brown on top and fully cooked in the center. Keep an eye on them near the end because ovens and baking dishes can vary.
- Brush the remaining garlic-Parmesan butter over the hot rolls immediately after they come out of the oven. Add a little extra Parmesan and parsley if desired, then serve warm.
Notes
Freshly grated Parmesan melts and adheres better than shelf-stable powdered Parmesan. For stronger garlic flavor, gently warm the minced garlic in the melted butter for 1–2 minutes without browning it. Refrigerated biscuit or yeast-roll dough may be substituted, but baking time can vary by brand. For a softer finish, cover baked rolls with a clean towel for 5 minutes before serving.
