Ingredients

Main Ingredients
  • 1 8-count can, about 16 ounces Refrigerated biscuits
  • 8 sticks Mozzarella string-cheese sticks
Garlic Butter Topping
  • 4 tablespoons Unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 teaspoon Minced garlic
  • 1 teaspoon Dried parsley or Italian seasoning
  • 2 tablespoons, optional Finely grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 pinch, optional Salt

Method

Step-by-Step
  1. Heat the oven to 375°F and line a baking sheet with parchment paper. Separate the biscuits and flatten each one slightly with your fingers or a rolling pin.
  2. Place one piece of mozzarella in the center of each flattened biscuit. Pull the dough up and around the cheese, then pinch the seams firmly closed.
  3. Arrange the filled biscuits seam-side down on the prepared baking sheet. Stir together the melted butter, garlic, parsley or Italian seasoning, Parmesan, and optional salt.
  4. Brush the garlic butter generously over each dough-covered cheese piece. Bake for 10 to 15 minutes, until the biscuits are puffed and golden brown.
  5. Brush with a little more garlic butter immediately after baking, if desired. Let the cheese bombs stand for 3 to 5 minutes before serving because the melted cheese will be very hot.

Notes

Seal the dough completely around the cheese, especially at the ends, to help prevent leaks. Chill or briefly freeze the cheese pieces before wrapping them to keep the centers gooey while the biscuits brown. Avoid overbaking, which can cause the cheese to escape and the dough to become dry.
