Prep Time 10 minutes
Total Time 10 minutes
Servings: 8 servings

Ingredients

Creamy Dip
  • 8 ounces (225 g) Full-fat cream cheese, softened
  • 1/2 cup (100 g) Packed light brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon Vanilla extract
Topping
  • 1/2 cup (120 g) Prepared caramel sauce or caramel ice-cream topping
  • 1/2 cup (about 75 g) Toffee bits, such as Heath bits, optional
For Serving
  • 6-8 apples Apples, sliced

Method

Step-by-Step
  1. Allow the cream cheese to soften at room temperature. Beat the softened cream cheese and packed light brown sugar with an electric mixer for about 1–2 minutes, or until smooth and creamy.
  2. Beat in the vanilla extract until it is evenly distributed throughout the cream cheese mixture. Scrape down the sides of the bowl if needed.
  3. Spread the creamy mixture into a shallow serving dish. Pour the prepared caramel sauce over the top and spread it evenly.
  4. Sprinkle the optional toffee bits over the caramel layer. Serve immediately with sliced apples, or cover and refrigerate for up to 2 days.
  5. For a firmer, more cheesecake-like consistency, refrigerate the dip for 30 minutes before serving. If it becomes firm in the refrigerator, let it stand at room temperature for 10–15 minutes.

Notes

Use softened full-fat cream cheese to avoid lumps. For a softer dip, stir the caramel sauce into the cream cheese mixture instead of layering it on top. The recipe makes about 2 cups and serves 8–10.
