Step-by-Step
- Heat the oven to 200°F (93°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or a silicone baking mat, then arrange 70 square pretzels in a single layer with a little space between them.
- Place one unwrapped Hershey’s Hug on top of each pretzel. Before baking, have all 70 M&M’s ready so they can be pressed into the softened chocolate immediately.
- Bake for 4–5 minutes, watching closely. Remove the tray when the Hugs are softened but still holding their shape; they should not look completely melted.
- Immediately press one M&M into the center of each softened Hug. Use gentle, even pressure so the chocolate spreads just enough to grip the candy without sliding off the pretzel.
- Refrigerate the tray or let the candies stand at room temperature until firm, usually 10–20 minutes. Once set, transfer the pretzel candies to an airtight container and store them at room temperature or in the refrigerator.
Notes
Do not bake until the chocolate looks melted because Hugs soften quickly and may become greasy or lose their shape. Prepare the M&M’s before the tray goes into the oven and use parchment paper or a silicone baking mat for easier removal and storage.
