Ingredients

Main Ingredients
  • 4 breasts, about 1 1/2–2 pounds total Boneless, skinless chicken breasts
  • 8 slices, cooked crisp and crumbled Bacon
Seasoning
  • 1 packet, about 1 ounce or 2 tablespoons Dry ranch seasoning mix
  • 1 tablespoon Olive oil
  • 1/2 teaspoon Black pepper
  • Optional Salt
Cheese
  • 1 cup Shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1/2 cup Shredded mozzarella cheese

Method

Step-by-Step
  1. Heat the oven to 375°F and lightly grease a 9-by-13-inch baking dish.
  2. Cook the bacon until crisp, drain it well, cool slightly, and crumble it.
  3. If the chicken breasts are thick, pound them to an even thickness of about 3/4 inch.
  4. Rub the chicken with olive oil and black pepper, then arrange the breasts in the prepared baking dish.
  5. Sprinkle the ranch seasoning evenly over the chicken.
  6. Scatter the crumbled bacon over the chicken, then cover with the cheddar and mozzarella.
  7. Bake uncovered for 25 to 35 minutes, depending on chicken thickness, until the center of the thickest breast reaches 165°F.
  8. Rest the bake for about 5 minutes before serving.

Notes

Drain the bacon well to avoid excess grease. Use an instant-read thermometer and remove the chicken when it reaches 165°F. Chicken tenders or thin-sliced breasts may bake in roughly 20 to 25 minutes. For a creamier version, some cooks add 1/2 cup ranch dressing or mayonnaise beneath the cheese.
