Step-by-Step
- Heat the oven to 425°F and lightly grease a 15 x 10-inch rimmed baking pan.
- Cook the ground beef in a skillet over medium heat for 6–8 minutes, breaking it into small crumbles. Cook until no pink remains, then drain thoroughly.
- Unroll the refrigerated pizza crust into the prepared pan. Press it across the bottom and slightly up the sides.
- Spread the ketchup evenly over the crust, then spread or drizzle the yellow mustard over the ketchup.
- Sprinkle the drained beef over the sauce, followed by the cheddar, mozzarella, and finely chopped onion.
- Bake for 12–15 minutes, or until the crust is golden brown and the cheese is melted and lightly browned.
- Arrange the dill pickle slices over the pizza after baking. Cut into squares and serve warm.
Notes
Drain the beef very well so excess grease does not make the crust soggy. For a crunchier crust, bake on the lower oven rack and avoid overloading the pizza with toppings. Optional toppings include shredded lettuce and diced tomato after baking, cooked bacon, sesame seeds on the crust before baking, or a small amount of mayonnaise mixed with the ketchup and mustard.
