Total Time 10 minutes
Servings: 1 servings

Ingredients

Smoothie Bowl
  • 1 cup Frozen mixed berries
  • 1 small Small frozen banana, sliced before freezing
  • 1/2 cup Plain Greek yogurt
  • 1/4 cup Unsweetened almond milk, dairy milk, or other milk
  • 1 tablespoon Honey or maple syrup, optional
  • 1 tablespoon Almond butter or peanut butter, optional
  • 1/2 teaspoon Vanilla extract, optional
Toppings
  • 2 tablespoons Granola
  • 1/4 cup Fresh berries
  • 1 tablespoon Sliced almonds, chopped nuts, or seeds
  • 1 tablespoon Unsweetened coconut flakes
  • 1 teaspoon Chia seeds or ground flaxseed
  • As desired Additional honey or nut butter, optional

Method

Step-by-Step
  1. Slice the banana before freezing if it is not already frozen. Frozen slices blend more easily and help create a thick, spoonable texture.
  2. Add the frozen mixed berries, frozen banana, Greek yogurt, and milk to a high-powered blender or food processor. Add the optional honey or maple syrup, nut butter, and vanilla extract if using.
  3. Blend until thick and smooth, stopping to scrape down the sides as needed. Add liquid sparingly so the mixture stays thick rather than turning into a drinkable smoothie.
  4. Spoon the blended mixture into one large bowl or divide it between two small bowls. Arrange the granola, fresh berries, nuts or seeds, coconut, and chia seeds or flaxseed over the top.
  5. Drizzle with additional honey or nut butter if desired and serve immediately while the bowl is cold and thick.

Notes

Use frozen fruit and add liquid gradually. A food processor often handles very thick smoothie bowls more easily than a standard blender. For a dairy-free bowl, use unsweetened coconut, almond, or soy yogurt.
