Ingredients

Bacon Cheeseburger Filling
  • 1 lb lean ground beef
  • 1/2 cup finely chopped onion
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 6-8 slices cooked and crumbled bacon
  • 1 cup shredded Cheddar cheese
Dough and Topping
  • 1 8 oz can refrigerated crescent dinner rolls
  • 1 egg large egg, beaten
  • 1 tablespoon sesame seeds
Equipment
  • 8 sticks rounded-end wooden craft sticks or oven-safe treat sticks

Method

Step-by-Step
  1. Heat the oven to 375°F and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Cook the ground beef and finely chopped onion in a skillet over medium heat for 8–10 minutes, breaking up the meat as it cooks. Continue until the beef is no longer pink, then drain excess fat.
  3. Stir the salt, black pepper, cooked crumbled bacon, and shredded Cheddar into the cooked beef. Let the mixture cool briefly before filling the dough.
  4. Separate the crescent dough into 8 triangles. Place a portion of the filling near the wide end of each triangle, then fold and roll the dough around it while pressing the seams closed.
  5. Insert one rounded-end wooden craft stick or oven-safe treat stick into each pop. Arrange the pops seam side down on the prepared baking sheet.
  6. Brush the dough with beaten egg and sprinkle with sesame seeds.
  7. Bake for approximately 12–15 minutes, until the crescent dough is puffed and golden brown. Make sure the beef filling reaches 160°F before serving, and serve the pops warm.

Notes

Cool the beef mixture for several minutes before filling so it does not soften or tear the crescent dough. Avoid overfilling, press every seam firmly closed, and use only rounded, oven-safe sticks rather than sharp skewers. Serve with ketchup, yellow mustard, or burger sauce for dipping.
