Easy 5-Minute Cannoli Dip

This creamy cannoli dip combines ricotta, mascarpone, powdered sugar, vanilla, cinnamon, and mini chocolate chips for a quick no-cook dessert. It makes about 3 cups, or 8 to 10 servings.

Total Time 5 minutes
Servings: 8 servings

Ingredients

Cannoli Dip
  • 15 ounces Whole-milk ricotta cheese, well drained
  • 8 ounces Mascarpone cheese, softened
  • 1 cup Powdered sugar
  • 1 teaspoon Vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup Mini semisweet chocolate chips
  • 1/4 teaspoon Ground cinnamon
Optional Garnishes
  • 1/4 cup Finely chopped pistachios
  • 1 teaspoon Finely grated orange zest

Method

Step-by-Step
  1. Drain the ricotta thoroughly by pressing it in a fine-mesh strainer for several minutes. Add the drained ricotta and softened mascarpone to a mixing bowl, then beat until smooth and creamy.
  2. Add the powdered sugar, vanilla extract, and ground cinnamon. Mix just until the ingredients are fully combined and the dip looks smooth.
  3. Fold most of the mini semisweet chocolate chips into the cheese mixture, reserving some for the topping. Transfer the dip to a serving bowl and garnish with the remaining chocolate chips, pistachios, and orange zest as desired.
  4. Serve immediately with broken cannoli shells, waffle-cone pieces, graham crackers, vanilla wafers, or fresh fruit. For a colder, firmer dip, refrigerate it for 30 to 60 minutes before serving.

Notes

Drain the ricotta thoroughly for a thick, scoopable dip. Use whole-milk ricotta and softened mascarpone, and mix only until smooth because overbeating mascarpone can make it loose or grainy. Add chocolate chips after blending the cheeses and sugar to keep the texture even.
