Ingredients

Main Ingredients
  • 3 cups (about 18 ounces/510 grams) White chocolate chips
  • 1 14-ounce can (396 grams) Sweetened condensed milk
  • 1 cup Finely crushed candy canes or peppermint candies, divided

Method

Step-by-Step
  1. Line an 8-inch square baking pan with parchment paper or foil, leaving enough overhang to lift out the chilled fudge.
  2. Reserve a few tablespoons of the finely crushed candy canes for the topping. Place the white chocolate chips and sweetened condensed milk in a microwave-safe bowl.
  3. Microwave in 30-second intervals, stirring thoroughly after each interval, until smooth. Alternatively, melt the mixture in a saucepan over low heat while stirring constantly.
  4. Stir most of the crushed candy canes into the smooth melted mixture, distributing the peppermint pieces evenly.
  5. Spread the fudge mixture evenly in the lined pan. Sprinkle the reserved candy pieces over the top and press them in lightly.
  6. Refrigerate the pan for 1 to 2 hours, or until the fudge is completely firm. Lift it from the pan using the parchment or foil overhang.
  7. Remove the lining and cut the fudge into small squares with a sharp knife. For especially clean cuts, warm and dry the knife before each slice.

Notes

Use sweetened condensed milk, not evaporated milk. Crush the candy canes fairly finely so the fudge is easy to cut, while leaving a few slightly larger pieces for crunch. Store the finished fudge in an airtight container in the refrigerator.
