  • 2 fl oz Vodka
  • 4–6 fl oz Lemon-lime soda, such as Sprite or 7UP
  • ½–1 fl oz Grenadine
  • As needed Ice
Garnish
  • 1 Maraschino cherry
Optional
  • 1 wedge or ½ fl oz Lime wedge or fresh lime juice

Method
 

Step-by-Step
  1. Fill a highball or Collins glass with ice. Add the vodka and grenadine, then top with lemon-lime soda.
  2. Add fresh lime juice if using, and stir gently just long enough to combine without flattening the soda. Garnish with a maraschino cherry and, optionally, a lime wedge.

Notes

Grenadine is a sweet pomegranate syrup, not cherry syrup. Add soda last and stir briefly to preserve carbonation. For a lighter drink, reduce the grenadine before reducing the vodka.
