Step-by-Step
- Chill a martini or coupe glass. Lightly coat the rim with chocolate syrup, then dip it into crushed graham crackers or chocolate-cookie crumbs if using.
- Add the marshmallow vodka, chocolate liqueur, Irish cream liqueur, heavy cream or half-and-half, and plenty of ice to a cocktail shaker.
- Shake vigorously for about 15 seconds, until the drink is thoroughly chilled and slightly frothy.
- Strain the cocktail into the prepared glass.
- Toast the large marshmallow separately with a kitchen torch until golden brown, or broil it briefly while watching closely. Place it on a cocktail pick and rest it across the glass.
- Drizzle the drink with a small amount of chocolate syrup, if desired, and serve immediately.
Notes
Chill the glass and use very cold ingredients for the thickest, smoothest texture. Toast the marshmallow separately and garnish at the last moment; never torch it while it is sitting over the alcohol because alcohol vapors are flammable. For a less sweet cocktail, use unsweetened half-and-half instead of heavy cream and crème de cacao instead of a sweeter chocolate cream liqueur.
