Step-by-Step
- Heat the oven to the temperature listed on the fries package, usually 220°C conventional or 200°C fan, equivalent to 425°F or 400°F fan. Preheat a large baking tray as well if possible.
- Spread the frozen fries over the hot tray in one uncrowded layer. Bake for 25 to 30 minutes, turning once, until deeply golden and crisp.
- While the fries bake, cook the bacon in a skillet over medium heat until browned and crisp. Transfer it to paper towels to drain.
- Chop the romaine and prepare the dressing. For homemade dressing, whisk the mayonnaise, Parmesan, lemon juice, Dijon, garlic, anchovy, water, and black pepper until smooth and pourable.
- Transfer the hot fries to a shallow bowl or serving platter. Scatter over the bacon, romaine, Parmesan, and croutons.
- Drizzle with Caesar dressing immediately before serving. Finish with freshly ground black pepper and optional lemon wedges.
Notes
Do not crowd the fries, and add the romaine and dressing at the last moment. Air-fryer fries can be cooked at approximately 200°C or 400°F for 15 to 20 minutes, shaking two or three times.
