Ingredients

Main Ingredients
  • 8 oz (225 g) Short pasta such as farfalle, rigatoni, or rotini
  • 1 Tbsp (15 ml) Olive oil
  • 1/2 cup (about 45-50 g) Finely grated Parmesan cheese
Seasoning
  • 1 tsp Italian seasoning
  • 1/2 tsp Garlic powder
  • 1/2 tsp Kosher salt, or to taste
  • 1/4 tsp Black pepper
Serving
  • As needed for dipping Marinara sauce

Method

Step-by-Step
  1. Bring a large pot of well-salted water to a boil. Cook the short pasta according to the lower end of the package directions, usually 8 to 10 minutes, until just al dente.
  2. Drain the pasta thoroughly and let it steam-dry briefly, or pat it dry with a clean kitchen towel. Excess moisture can prevent the pasta from becoming crisp.
  3. Transfer the warm pasta to a large bowl. Add the olive oil, Parmesan, Italian seasoning, garlic powder, kosher salt, and black pepper, then toss until every piece is evenly coated.
  4. Arrange the pasta in a mostly single layer in the air-fryer basket. Air-fry at 400°F (200°C) for 10 to 12 minutes, shaking the basket halfway through cooking.
  5. Check the texture and continue cooking in 1 to 2 minute increments if needed. The pasta chips will firm up slightly as they cool, so avoid cooking them far beyond crisp.
  6. Serve the chips warm or at room temperature with marinara, pizza sauce, or another favorite dipping sauce.

Notes

Dry the drained pasta well and avoid crowding the air-fryer basket. Cook in batches when necessary for the best browning and crispness. Store cooled leftovers in an airtight container and re-crisp briefly in the air fryer before serving.
