Ingredients

Main Ingredients
  • 1 lb (454 g) Brussels sprouts, trimmed and halved
  • 1 tablespoon Olive oil
  • 1/2 teaspoon Kosher salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon Freshly ground black pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon Garlic powder
Balsamic Finish
  • 1 tablespoon Balsamic vinegar
  • 1 tablespoon Honey or maple syrup
Optional Toppings
  • 1-2 tablespoons Balsamic glaze
  • 2 tablespoons Grated Parmesan or crumbled feta

Method

Step-by-Step
  1. Trim the stem ends, remove damaged outer leaves, and halve the Brussels sprouts. Dry them thoroughly, then toss with olive oil, kosher salt, black pepper, and garlic powder.
  2. Preheat the air fryer to 390°F (200°C) if your model requires preheating. Arrange the sprouts mostly in a single layer with the cut sides facing down.
  3. Air fry for 6 to 8 minutes, then shake the basket or turn the sprouts. Continue cooking for another 6 to 8 minutes, until crisp and browned outside and tender inside.
  4. Whisk the balsamic vinegar with the honey or maple syrup. Toss the hot Brussels sprouts with the mixture or drizzle it over them immediately before serving.
  5. Finish with balsamic glaze, Parmesan, or feta if desired. Serve immediately while the edges are at their crispiest.

Notes

Dry the Brussels sprouts well and avoid overcrowding the air fryer basket. If needed, cook in batches for better air circulation. Add the balsamic mixture after cooking because the sugars can burn during air frying.
